An Incredible Day!

It's an incredible day!

The morning started with an email update from UCAS Track that I received on my blackberry first thing in the morning. Was it King's or UCL????? Logged into the King's College portal, and there it was:

Unconditional Offer from King's College London for BA Geography!

Sounds regal, right? All was good... and I went to camp for our Graduation ceremony. Was done with that, and booked out at 2pm, becoming official soldiers of 8 SIR!

With all that time on our hands, WeiSheng and I decided to go get the Birthday gift for Jerryl. I needed to collect the NUS Transcript, so we stopped by NUSHS first (since our camp was in Clementi) and then got on the bus to town!

I was in a joyous mood, so I treated him to XLBs at DinTaiFung @ 313!

XLB ftw!

Shopped around, bought myself a copy of LKY's Hard Truths, Jerryl's Gift and it was off to dinner!

HOT TOMATO @ 313

Can you believe we upsized our meal for this pathetic piece of bread???

Food wasn't very nice. The pasta I ordered was a bit dry, and the sauce was... well... not tasty at all :(

Right about that time, I got an email from UCAS Track on my BB. I was in the middle of a conversation with Weisheng when I exclaimed "FML" in full. I knew that it must be a reply from UCL, and I DIDN'T GET INTERVIEWED YET. THAT MUST MEAN REJECTION!!!!!!!!!

With bated breath, I logged onto the UCAS portal (Thank you RIM for your awesome blackberry OS6 browser)... and there it was, right before my eyes:

The last of my choices - University College London: Unconditional Offer for Geography with Economics!!!

I have been waiting for offers from King's and UCL for quite a while now. With UCL at the top of my radar, I was semi-regretting applying to the highly competitive "Geography with Economics" course. I mean, everyone was getting replies from Law, Economics, Natural Sciences etc, and why was mine taking so long? I started having this nagging feeling that my rejection letter was in mid-air, just like how the Cambridge one was...

ANYWAY, it was so awesome! FINALLY, all this nail-biting waiting was over! All the replies were in, and I now have four UK schools to choose from!

And this book was what Weisheng thought was a good gift:

So, after all that was over, we had to celebrate, of course!!! Double Happiness in one day!

Went to B&J's at the OC, with ice-cream and a long chat :)

It's amazing how we talked about almost anything under the sun... from getting a bachelor's pad to goals, our thoughts on our education, A levels, and well, just about anything. I think I spoke with a level of candour that I only do with a small group of friends, and I actually felt comfortable doing so. It's the same feeling I get whenever I make friends outside of school - this sense of being accepted and accepting others wholeheartedly, without being judged based on hearsay or your history within the school. That's not to say that there aren't people like that in school - I love my school friends to bits - but I find that some of my friendships outside school seem to grow deeper faster :)

Well, I have block leave for 4 days this week, so it's time to party!
